For 10+ years, PCR-NGS techniques have been widely used for clinical diagnostics. Clinicians now want a real-time understanding of disease states, requiring a more complete picture of proteins, metabolites and lipids. LC-MS based assays are crucial to provide this level of insight with their analytical specificity, sensitivity, and capacity to analyze simultaneously multiple analytes. Our vision is for Waters to lead the continued broad-based adoption of LC-MS. This will be accelerated by continued innovation including new ionization methods, improved ease of use, as well as novel applications in ‘omics’ research and anatomical pathology.  Reporting to Senior Director, Clinical Product Solutions, this position will join a passionate, agile team to develop innovative solutions to address high unmet needs and establish Waters as the leader in clinical LC-MS diagnostics markets. This position is based at Wilmslow, UK or Milford, USA.

This is a unique position that features main duties in the interdisciplinary areas of Biology, Chemistry and Analytical sciences. The Global Research team is looking for an early-mid career individual to help change the way we think about problems, inspire new ideas, and contribute to the next generation of innovations across mass spectrometry, chromatography, chemistry and sample preparation. This current role focuses on conducting bioanalytical work, host cell protein characterization and multiple interdisciplinary research using our most advanced chemistries, mass spectrometers, liquid chromatography instruments and automation in various settings and applications. This position will interact closely with our Research, Development, Chemistries and Applications teams in the United Kingdom and US. The Waters Global Research team performs early, cutting-edge research on novel separation technologies and automation systems that are used in measurements of the life, food, and materials sciences industries. We are committed to understanding customer needs and pivoting these insights into new and exciting technologies to address those needs.
