  • Overview

    Waters is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Account Manager in the San Francisco District. Responsibilities include driving sales for our complete product portfolio including LC and LC/MS systems, software, consumables and services.  The desired candidate is a self starter in developing and implementing a territorial business plan while working in concert with their assigned specialists and marketing colleagues to deliver an aggressive call cycle and business development activities.  The foundation of the Account Manager’s role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers’ needs and challenges, designing solutions with lasting and meaningful business impact. 

     

    This position is located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Occasional overnight travel required for planning meetings and training.

    Responsibilities

    • Meet or exceed sales targets
    • Maintain and grow installed base customer satisfaction
    • Aggressively develop new prospects and penetrate competitive accounts
    • Coordinate resources to ensure customer success and satisfaction
    • Visit customers and prospects on a daily basis to understand needs and challenges and highlight Waters solutions
    • Build technical competency on Waters solution and be perceived by customers as a valued business partner
    • Keep current on market dynamics, application trends, and competitive landscape
    • Provide feedback to marketing team to create business development programs
    • Fully utilize sales contact management tools and applications
    • Submit accurate and timely monthly sales forecasts
    • Develop business through monthly plan of action

    Qualifications

    • BS/Masters/PhD in a scientific discipline (e.g. chemistry, biology or biochemistry) or a science-related field of study
    • At least 3 years chromatography experience. UPLC and/or LC/MS field sales and/or marketing is a plus.
    • Strong technical background in analytical technologies, especially LC and LC/MS
    • Action oriented and self-driven for results
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Excellent organization / planning / time management skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a good listener
    • Mature disposition, positive attitude and strong sense of commitment
    • Adaptive to dynamic and changing environment
