    Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Plant Manager to join our Machining organization.  In this role, the individual will join our Global Machining Operations Team here in our Milford Headquarters.  Specifically, the individual will be responsible for all management and oversight of a fast paced, high technology Machining Operation, with multiple departments and a staff size of 170 people. The individual department supervisors report directly in to this position


    The individual in this role is accountable for delivering on all quality, financial and operational goals for the whole of the Machining Operation. In addition, this role requires responsibility towards keeping the operation aligned with the overall manufacturing organization, both tactically and strategically.  This role requires continued implementation of our Lean Manufacturing system, Inclusive of Lean Management, metrics development and daily review, coaching and mentoring in the Lean environment and working towards creating continuous flow across departmental boundaries and/or creating full value streams within a single department


    This is a high energy very progressive manufacturing space. The appropriate candidate would be a strong leader who embraces change and will work with the team to lead ongoing continuous improvements. 


    • Provide leadership, direction and support for the Machining Team.
    • Frequent communications and presentations to all staff in the areas of performance, company and departmental strategies, initiatives and policies.
    • Assure compliance with requisite safety rules and regulations and develop programs and solution to drive continuous improvement in safety.
    • Identifies and directs implementation of quality and efficiency improvement opportunities.
    • Maintain day to day responsibilities of meeting production requirements. Leads all production supervisors and managers as needed to meet the production schedule.
    • Develop supervisors through coaching, feedback, and setting/measuring goals and objectives.
    • Develops and maintains long range strategies inclusive of capital selection, justification and acquisitions.
    • Resolves problems relating to materials, operations, quality or other factors that may result in production delays.
    • Interacts with applicable engineering staff on piece part design, process development and improvement.
    • Employs Lean concepts to improve flow, reduce waste, drive standardization and to integrate all individual work centers into a factory level value stream.
    • Ensure all Waters policies and procedures are enforced fairly and equally.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field of study or equivalent experience required.
    • 5+ years of previous management experience, in a fast paced machining/manufacturing environment is required.
    • Previous experience managing a machining center comprised of CNC Lathes, Milling centers, EDM machines is desired
    • Strong technical background in mechanical disciplines
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team toward their objectives
    • Previous Lean manufacturing experience is highly desirable
    • Strong interpersonal skills, communications and presentation skills (oral & written) are required.
    • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Information Systems.
