    Overview

    Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Service Support & Development Engineer who will provide technical support for Waters Informatics software and applications.  In this role, the individual provides technical support for escalated application and software related issues experienced by our customers and the Waters’ Field Service organization.  

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support for Waters software and applications to the customers and Service Engineers
    • Document support activities using the Waters’ Customer Interaction Tracking system (CIT)
    • Write system change requests to document anomalies and defects identified in customer service requests
    • Perform troubleshooting on installations and to assist the Field Service Engineers
    • Engage with external customers via remote control interfaces such as WebEx, TeamViewer and GoToMeeting
    • Create test environments in support of Waters’ products, applications and customer requirements
    • Coordinate and support OEM vendor relationships with respect to ongoing support on behalf of Waters
    • Provide guidance to other members of the Service Support team and Waters Global Services teams with respect to technical and business requirements for new systems and applications
    • Provide technical training, as required
    • Assist with the development of technical support content, including installations and troubleshooting documentation
    • Create detailed procedures and work instructions for use by Waters’ Field Service engineers and external customers

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific discipline or suitable qualifying experience
    • 4+ years of qualifying experience in the Computer Sciences or related fields of study
    • Experience providing technical support within a scientific software/instrumentation vendor or within a customer organization for scientific software applications preferred
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems both current and historical versions
    • Working knowledge of networking protocols
    • Experience with Intel based server and work station hardware platforms is required
    • Experience with UNIX and LINUX based server and work station hardware platforms is desired
    • Experience with virtualization software is desired, (e.g. VMWare, Oracle VM Virtual Box)
    • Certification in Oracle Database Administration is a plus
    • Capability to write PLSQL code and PowerShell code is highly desired
    • Knowledge of Waters products and markets, including applications, systems and solutions is desired
    • Communication, organizational, presentation and problem solving skills are desired
