    Waters Corporation is searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Instrument Product Group. In this role, the individual will put strong technical engineering knowledge and experience into practice while developing analytical instrumentation in a team oriented and collaborative environment. The candidate will be challenged in a multifaceted environment utilizing many aspects of mechanical engineering including: mechanical design, analytical problem solving, fluid dynamics, motion control, heat transfer, material science, user centered interface design, and system engineering. The candidate will work in a dynamic environment to develop innovative products while working with experts from multiple disciplines including: electrical engineering, software engineering, product reliability, chemistry, and production engineering.


    • Mechanical Design of Analytical Instruments from Concept to Production

      • Work Collaboratively in a Team Environment
      • Mechanical & opto-mechanical Design of Parts and Assemblies
      • Analytical Design and Problem Solving
      • Laboratory Experimentation and Product Verification
      • Understanding of uncertainty budget
      • Initial Production Support
      • May provide mentoring and direction to more junior engineers


    • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering - Required
    • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Strongly Desired
    • Demonstrated experience in product development
    • 5 to 8 years of experience in related field
    • Proven Strong Analytical Skills
    • Understanding of drafting standards and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 M-1994/ASME Y14.5-2009
    • Experience with Unigraphics / Solid Works / or Equivalent Tool
    • Experience with ANSYS or Equivalent Tool
    • Experience with Matlab or Mathcad
