    Reporting to the Senior Director of Food & Environmental Marketing, this position will develop, lead and manage key strategic relations within the food and environmental markets.


    This role requires the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to help guide the execution of Waters’ corporate strategy within defined targets. A key success factor for this position will be the ability to work within a highly matrixed organization. Partnerships with Field Management, Scientific Operations and Product Marketing Leaders are expected to drive our position as the world’s leader Specialty Measurement Company.


    This role will focus on

    1.) Developing and driving international scientifically-focused collaboration networks

    2.) Identifying networking opportunities and connections with Key Opinion Leaders and domain experts

    3.) Internal/external stakeholder management in alignment with Waters key strategic, market, scientific and innovation initiatives.

    The successful candidate will have demonstrated relevant scientific competence, will be innovative, creative and have the ability to act as an external spokesperson and champion for the food and environmental markets.


    • Responsible for developing and securing outside strategic partnerships to expand Waters outlook, connections, and expertise around global food and environmental issues impacted by analytical science in order to establish Waters as a leader in food and environmental testing.
    • Create and manage high value, solutions oriented Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships and networks which link to specific market initiatives, strategies and projects. Form and manage scientific advisory boards with KOLs.
    • Serve as a Waters representative in meetings with outside partners as needed
    • Manage strategic relationships with key industry stakeholders, including consortia, governments regulators, and NGOs. Track and communicate KPIs from partnerships. 
    • This position will require 30 to 40% domestic and international travel.



    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in technology or life sciences field. MBA preferred.
    • Minimum of 10+ year’s industry-specific experience in analytical technologies with at least 5 years of strategy-focused experience.
    • Deep knowledge of global business-to-business and multi-dimensional networks and partnerships, specifically with the fit of Waters or related technologies and solutions
    • Strong strategic marketing and collaborative experience developing strategic and long range research plans in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
    • Strong decision quality with demonstrated ability to think analytically, coupled to a well rounded strategic perspective on industry requirements, regulatory frameworks and scientific acumen.
    • Self-motivated with ability to flexibly respond to frequently changing demands strong operational mindset, decisive, with a “get it done” and “whatever it takes” mentality
    • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others without formal authority
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
