    Summary of Position:

    This is a great opportunity to join an innovative, growing company as a Quality Engineer for the Incoming Inspection Dept. This entry level Quality Engineer will work under the direction and supervision of the Incoming Inspection Supervisor. This position is located in the Waters Milford, MA facility. 

    In this role, the individual will utilize their computer skills to balloon part drawings and program automated test equipment (examples: CMMs, optical inspection devices, etc). The individual will also utilize a variety of measurement and inspection techniques and equipment to inspect complex parts and assemblies.  

    The Quality Engineer will also be a key resource in identifying and implementing best practices for process improvement, problem solving, and driving customer satisfaction.

    This entry level position is hands-on in a fast-paced environment which will interact with multiple functions (R&D, Engineering, Test Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Regulatory, and Purchasing) and sites (sister manufacturing sites and contract manufacturers) to resolve quality issues.

    Responsibilities

    Duties:

    • Use measuring instruments, engineering drawings, procedures, workmanship standards, etc. to perform inspection of parts and assemblies. 
    • Maintain inspection records and compile results of all inspections for internal feedback reporting system (SAP).
    • Complete discrepancy reports for non-conforming material (SAP) as needed.
    • Balloon drawings and generate Quality Inspection Plans (QIPs) 
    • Operate automated inspection equipment, specifically programmable vision systems and CMM's.

    Qualifications

      

    Education:

    • Qualified individual should have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, etc), Business, Mathematics, Science, or technical field with emphasis on statistical skills.  Advanced degree preferred.

     

    Required:

    • Some manufacturing experience (Co-Op and/or internship for recent college graduates)
    • Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings, along with electrical and fluidic schematics 
    • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) 
    • Strong computer skills
    • CAD software experience
    • Good report writing and reviewing skills

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Previous machining or inspection experience 
    • CMM programming experience 
    • Solidworks Inspector CAD experience
    • Prolink experience
    • Experience in implementation of mechanical inspection equipment, and methods
    • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean and Six Sigma)
    • General understanding of ISO Quality Management Systems
    • Exposure to process and/or software validation methods
    • Previous inspection and/or quality control experience within the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Automotive or Aero Space industry
    • Quality Assurance Experience working in a regulated environment (ISO 9001, ISO13485, TS16949 or AS9100)
    • Operational Excellence/Six Sigma/Lean training or certifications
    • Experience using Sparta Trackwise, SAP, or Oracle
    • Knowledge of various sampling plans
