    Waters is currently seeking a Principal Design Quality Engineer, Software to support the delivery and full lifecycle management of software.  


    In this senior Design Assurance role, you join our Quality team supporting the development of specialist measurement and scientific analysis software.


    In this position, you would implement, innovate, and improve of our quality management system. This role helps ensure the highest levels of software product quality and customer satisfaction while maintaining statutory and regulatory compliance.

    • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the software development process, provide "solution-based" advice to development teams
    • As a Software Quality Assurance specialist, ensure conformance to applicable regulatory requirements 
    • Provide interpretation and guidance on industry best practice Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
    • Evaluate the acceptability of products for release, ensuring customer requirements / specifications and internal Waters policies and procedures are met
    • Provide leadership and direction on teams' quality activities in respect of design control deliverables, particularly those relating to product compliance and performance
    • Actively participate in the development, review, and approval of design deliverables (planning, requirements, architecture, risk management, verification/validation, problem resolution, etc.)


    • Minimum of Bachelors Degree. Preferably within computer science, engineering, or related science fields
    • Minimum 6 years’ experience supporting Quality Assurance activities within software development. Experience within regulated industries preferred.
    • Strong working knowledge of various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models within a complex hardware-software development environment. Desired: Proven experience of software delivery in safety-critical or regulated environments
    • Demonstrated ability to apply Quality Management practices in efficient and effective ways, while ensuring compliance. Has a solutions-based approach to quality, wanting to provide “added value”
    • Extensive knowledge of and experience in design and process control activities, root cause analysis, and verification and validation methodologies to drive software product quality. Strongly preferred: Experience with Quality Management Systems compliant to one or more QMS standard (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.) 
    • Strong mentoring and communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail, accomplished at report writing and review
    • Demonstrates sound judgment/rationale
