    Waters ERA is adding the position of Product Marketing Manager to its commercial team in Golden, Colorado. The Product Marketing Manager will enhance our technical marketing to help scientists performing environmental testing select and use the products and resources we provide.  The Product Marketing Manager will develop strategic marketing plans and work with our Marketing Communications team to develop collateral, reach our customers and execute tactical marketing activities. The Product Marketing Manager will combine her/his technical knowledge with that of internal and external subject matter experts to develop content appropriate to relevant customer personas and stages in the buying journey.  This content will support our digital marketing, web site and other traditional marketing activities to grow our market share, introduce new products and support our customers’ needs. By improving our market visibility we’ll be better able to continue to grow our market share, identify new market opportunities and make it easier for our customers to do business with us. Our goal is to provide our customers with the information they need when they need it.  


    A highly motivated and collaborative individual with strong business acumen, digital marketing experience, technical background, and environmental market knowledge would be ideal for this position. Domestic and international travel of up to 25% is required.


    • [~20%] Define key target customer personas target customer behaviors. Develop corresponding marketing strategies (messaging, value propositions, content, tactical plans) to effectively address. Drive the marketing planning process to develop annual and short term plans to achieve business objectives.  
    • [~25%] Work closely with Product Management, Technical Team, Sales, and internal technical resources to source technical content and refine for targeted marketing activities. With internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and external customer inputs develop consistent stream of digital content. Develop and optimize portfolio web content for user relevance, ease of use and search engine ranking. Work with Sales and Marketing and International Channels and Marketing Communications to develop trade event strategy, messaging and collateral.
    • [~25%] Work closely with Sales and Marketing management, SMEs, International Channels, and Marketing Communications to develop and execute strategic and tactical marketing plans
    • [~10%] Work closely with Waters Marketing and Product Management counterparts to identify and execute cross portfolio content and promotional opportunities.
    • [~10%] Analyze customer behavior metrics including purchase history, study enrollment data, marketing responses and digital behaviors to drive segmentation into appropriate marketing campaigns.
    • [10%] Voice of customer and market analysis. Interact with sales and directly with customers to gather perspective and feedback, trends, etc. Conduct and maintain competitive intelligence to monitor activities of key competitors to identify threats and opportunities. Translate these into strategic and tactical actions.   


    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology or closely related technical field
    • 4 or more years in product marketing, product management or similar commercial role
    • Proven success in developing and executing digital and conventional marketing strategies
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
    • Ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts to messaging appropriate to each target segment/persona


    • Proven track record of successful marketing execution in analytical testing, proficiency testing, environmental, food or closely related market segments
    • Experience in supporting distribution channels and international markets
