    Overview

    Manage a department team in Assembly & Test functions as assigned, contributing to daily production requirements in both an individual and leadership role. Assist in analyzing and determining the corrective action for problems associated with analytical instrument build and test, subassemblies, systems and manufacturing processes. Champion department quality objectives and quality systems adherence.

    Responsibilities

    • Primary duties include management across broad and diverse electro-mechanical assembly and test functions to assist the department in meeting production schedules and quality goals.
    • Provide daily support to the department through scheduling and prioritizing production efforts.
    • Assist in determining and initiating the corrective action for problems identified in instruments, assemblies, processes, tooling, and material.
    • Coordinate training for department personnel for assembly, test and production of new and existing analytical instruments and processes.
    • Evaluate ongoing development and activities of department personnel.
    • Coordinate with support functions in the following areas:

    -Suggest, plan, and assist in ongoing continuous improvement efforts.

    -Assist in the Implementation of methods to improve manufacturing processes.

    -Assist in reviewing and/or updating documentation for processes and assembly equipment.

    -Assist in transferring new products, assemblies, equipment and processes from New Product Introduction into Instrument Operations.

    -Assist in transferring new products, assemblies, equipment and processes from production to global sourcing partners as necessary.

    • Gather, correlate and assist in analyzing process/product quality data.
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications to include the following:

    • High School education with 1 years experience or equivalent leadership experience in an electro mechanical assembly and test environment.
    • Associates Degree or higher along with additional ongoing education in technology or business strongly preferred.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work efficiently in cross functional teams
    • Competency in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation softwares.
