Overview

The Marketing Manager within our Biopharma Segment team is responsible for working cross functionally to develop and implement tactical commercial plans to drive the fastest growing segment within Waters’ global $1B Pharma business.  

 

The Marketing Manager will leverage their scientific knowledge within this business to understand and quantify the key drivers that lead to purchasing decisions, and to position Waters’ right to win against a dynamic and competitive analytical technologies field.

 

This role requires the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to help guide the execution of Waters’ corporate strategy within defined targets. You will conduct market sizing and segmentation activities while implementing near term marketing strategies that position novel solutions and technologies at a world leading Specialty Measurement Company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business plans to support short and long term Biopharma business objectives and positioning Waters' right-to-win for defined workflows.
  • Work with global field marketing teams to develop tactical plans to drive the Biopharma business.
  • Assess customer needs and define portfolio gaps.  
  • Develop and promote solution positioning and marketing strategies for BioPharma across all product lines.
  • Manage the production of technical marketing literature and the development of marketing initiatives to support Field Marketing and Sales activities.
  • Work collaboratively across the Waters organization, with Field Marketing, Scientific Operations, Strategic Marketing, Product Management and R&D on current solutions and defining new solutions
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the competitive landscape, be able identify threats and opportunities in real time, and create action plans accordingly
  • Participate in, and where appropriate, organize meetings, seminars, tradeshows to promote the Waters brand, capture mindshare and bring knowledge into the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science related field with at least 3 years experience. Master’s Degree or MBA is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the BioTech/BioPharmaceutical industry or the analytical technologies business, including demonstrating successful leadership.
  • Successful track record implementing commercial or scientific projects or plans.
  • Evidence of good communication skills and of building good relationships with customers.
  • Commercial/marketing experience or experience in a customer facing role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
