    Waters is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of a Food Account Manager. Responsibilities include: developing and managing account relationships with food research, food safety, food testing and food QC accounts in private, government and academic settings; and selling our full range of products and services Including Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography System, Mass Spectrometers, software, consumables and services for the

    Central District based in Illinois or Indiana.  
    The desired candidate should be a self starter in developing and implementing a territorial business plan working in unison with their assigned specialists and marketing colleagues in delivering on aggressive call cycle and business development activities. The foundation of the account manager's role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers' needs and challenges, designing solutions with lasting and meaningful business impact to our customers.

    The role of food and environmental testing laboratories has never been more critical. Safety and quality are of major concern to consumers, water municipalities, state and federal governments, food producers and manufacturers of food products. These groups face a variety of challenges, including a growing number of contaminants, lower limits of detection, more stringent regulations, protection of trade markets, preservation of brand image, and increased competition.

    Waters Corporation is a leader in developing environmental and food testing systems. These systems integrate sample prep, separation chemistries, analytical instrumentation and data management software into a solution based offering. These solutions enable food and environmental laboratories to identify diverse chemical compounds, meet or exceed compliance requirements, decrease operation costs, increase productivity, and, most importantly, help ensure public safety.


    • Aggressively develop new prospects and penetrate competitive accounts while maintaining current customer base for assigned market
    • Perform solution based selling to meet or exceed sales targets
    • Implement strategic sales initiatives into the district that are consistent with corporate goals and objectives
    • Keep current on assigned market dynamics, application trends, and competitive information
    • Manage forecasting, establishment of sales goals and pipeline management
    • Maintain installed based customer satisfaction
    • Develop and maintain technical competency with Waters solutions to be recognized by customers as a credible resource
    • Fully utilize our sales contact management tools and applications.
    • Participate in trade shows and local technical seminars as required
    • Travel within the territory will be at least 50%



    • Minimum Bachelors degree in a technical field : such as chemistry, biology, biochemistry, food science or human nutrition
    • At least 3 years experience in analytical sciences in food safety, food testing or food related industry preferred
    • Detail oriented and assertive self-starter who can operate effectively in a constantly changing environment
    • Good communication and Presentation Skills
    • Good organizational / planning / time management skills
    • Excellent relationship building and persuasion skills with the ability to motivate and influence others
    • Positive attitude and strong sense of commitment
    • Strong technical background in Analytical Science for food safety and/or food testing. GC, LC and LC/MS experience a plus
