We are currently seeking a Process Chemist to work on the manufacturing of reagents, as well as developing innovative techniques to support and enhance current products.


The Process Chemist will reside in Chemistry Technical Support group in Taunton and will also work closely with QC, Production Departments, as well as R&D.


He or she will have a background in chemistry or biochemistry particularly with good organic synthesis skills. Any experience with reagent synthesis and quality system compliance is a plus. A strong understanding of statistical methods including application of DOE is desired. The successful individual will be a self-starter capable of working independently. The individual in this position is expected to foster teamwork within the laboratory and across functional lines.


Process Chemist will reside in Chemistry Technical Support group in Taunton, MA. He or She will work closely with Quality Control and Production Departments in Taunton, as well as Chemistry R&D in Milford. This person will:


  • Perform syntheses of organic reagents that will be used as biomolecule markers
  • Perform syntheses of silica or silica hybrid particles as well as their modifications
  • Trouble shooting of existing manufacturing processes to understand the ongoing issues
  • Make process improvements on the current processes
  • Have knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiments) and Six Sigma is a plus
  • Conduct all project activities in accordance with ISO standard and comply with all EHS requirements


  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field is required; a graduate degree is a plus.
  • Experience within biochemistry or organic synthesis chemistry.
  • Experimental design, planning and management to synthesize and support current and new products, in particular, the reagents.
  • Product transfer from R&D to manufacturing and scale-up.
  • Strong organizational skills and the proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
