The Marketing Manager within our Bioseparations business development team to be responsible for working with the Waters Platform Technologies, Applied Technologies and Field Operations Groups operations to develop and implement the tactical plans to drive the Biopharmaceutical business.  


The Marketing Manager, Bioseparations should be capable of aggressively growing a $100M+ Bioseparations business portfolio with specific areas of focus in Liquid Chromatography systems, Column and Sample Preparation consumables. The ideal candidate will possess the right mix of scientific/technical acumen and business development skills, along with the ability to influence and work across functional boundaries and effectively relate both areas to internal and external customers. 


This position offers the candidate an opportunity to position novel solutions and technologies within a growing market segment, utilize scientific and technical skills to communicate value, and influence future product development at a world class S&P500 analytical instrument company.



  • Develop and implement business plans to support short and long term Bioseparations business objectives.
  • Work with global field marketing teams to develop tactical plans to drive the Bioseparations business.
  • Identify opportunities and key applications for business development in Bioseparations by understanding the customers’ science and business objectives.   Develop  and promote solution positioning and marketing strategies for Bioseparations.
  • Manage the production of technical marketing literature and the development of marketing initiatives to support Field Marketing and Sales activities.
  • Presents Waters application solutions and technologies at seminars and conferences.
  • Provides support to the Field sales and Marketing organization in implementation of programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as required by the business objectives of Waters Corporation.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science related field with at least 8 years experience. Master’s Degree or Ph.D. degree in related field preferred. MBA is desirable.
  • Experience in the BioTech/BioPharmaceutical industry or the scientific instrument business, including demonstrating successful leadership.
  • Experience in IEX, HIC, SEC chromatography.
  • Experience in, or exposure to, multiple disciplines within Waters.
  • Experience with leading teams of people/networks or scientific projects.
  • Evidence of good communication skills and of building good relationships with customers.
  • Commercial/marketing experience or experience of a customer facing role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
