Overview

A demand planner is responsible for developing and cross-functionally aligning a demand forecast, and for researching and analyzing sales trends and other factors related to demand planning. This role also manages forecasting tools, processes and reporting. It has a clear view of the entire supply chain and specializes in developing forecast models that will help determine the supply chain’s demands. This role is entrusted with the task of developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external supply chain planning partners (for example, finance, sales and marketing, and product management) to refine and develop the forecast.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and coordination of all consensus demand planning activities, including forecast development, integration of marketing insights, financial reconciliation, and communication of the most accurate demand outlook to stakeholders.
    Participate in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes, including Portfolio Review, Demand Review Consensus Meetings, and Site Review meetings, while ensuring all required demand planning inputs are prepared and delivered on a monthly basis.
  • Serve as the steward of the forecast by proactively identifying risks, escalating concerns, and responding to emerging trends, with a strong understanding of key customers and the primary drivers of fluctuations in historical and projected demand.
  • Maintain demand planning master data fields as needed, monitoring for inconsistencies and ensuring timely updates to support data accuracy and planning effectiveness.
    Analyze trends across product lines, provide insight into year-over-year variances and key demand drivers, and evaluate machine learning forecast outputs to identify areas requiring additional review or refinement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant field of study preferred.
  • Proficiency with SAP/APO software required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Power BI/Celonis desired.
  • This position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills & people skills
  • Relevant experience in Supply Chain with S&OP/IBP experience preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making skills
  • Experience developing and managing projects/programs
  • Ability to interface with senior management and effectively represent global/functional positions in a high-pressure environment
  • Passion to drive world-class excellence
  • Strong influencing skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization
  • Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
  • Experience with large-scale change management projects
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex / undefined business situations and problems, coordinate many complex activities/projects simultaneously and direct successful solutions globally.
