Overview

The position of Finance Director business partner supports the Informatics business segment to achieve its objectives of sustainable growth and profitability.  The role is a key member of the team and will work closely with the VP of Informatics, Strategy and Growth leader, Portfolio managers and senior managers across the Segment, Waters Division and cross functional teams. The role is critical in the development of financial, strategic and growth objectives aimed to provide long term profitable growth for the company and takes a lead financial role supporting the group.

Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary finance liaison for the Informatics software leadership.
  • Support strategic decision-making with data-driven financial analysis and insight.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and sales leaders to evaluate business performance, pricing models, business cases and investment opportunities.
  • Lead long-term financial planning aligned with the division’s growth objectives.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the software segment.
  • Develop robust financial models to evaluate product GTM (Go-To-Market), ROI and SaaS metrics (e.g., TCV, ARR, LTV, churn).
  • Analyze product and customer profitability, pricing strategy, and resource allocation.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, offering proactive recommendations.

Performance Reporting

  • Deliver monthly and quarterly performance reviews, including KPIs and dashboards.
  • Track and analyze key SaaS metrics to support business reviews and presentations to senior managers and leadership teams.
  • Support preparation of executive-level reporting and presentations.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive financial discipline and efficiency in R&D, GTM, and operational spend.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to assess ROI on development initiatives.
  • Establish or improve financial processes, tools, and systems to support scaling.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure financial practices align with corporate policies and relevant regulations.
  • Partner with accounting to ensure accurate and timely month-end close.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (required).
  • MBA designation (preferred).

Experience

  • 8-10+ years in progressively senior finance roles, with at least 3 years in a Finance Director or equivalent role.
  • Proven experience supporting a Software or SaaS business – ideally with global exposure.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics and subscription-based revenue models.
  • Strong track record of business partnering with product, engineering, and commercial leaders.

Skills

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; familiarity with Finance & analysis tools (e.g.,SAP, Power BI).
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
