Research Senior Scientist

Waters Global Research is looking for an energetic and creative scientist to join the research team to help bring our analytical and bioanalytical science to a new level. This is a unique position that features main duties in Milford, MA, and some duties in our Immerse lab in Cambridge, MA, providing an opportunity to work with our research teams out of both offices and to collaborate with prominent researchers. The Global Research team is looking for an early career individual to help change the way we think about problems, inspire new ideas, and contribute to the next generation of innovations across mass spectrometry, chromatography and sample preparation. This current role focuses on conducting interdisciplinary research using our liquid chromatography instruments, mass spectrometry, optical detection and automation in various settings and applications. The ideal candidate will help change how we think about problems, inspire new ideas, and challenge conventional approaches in analytical chemistry.

• Conduct research activities for customer problems within the Global Research Team using state-of-the-art chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation

• Implement own research activities within Waters Research

• Conduct systematic test measurements with prototypes and available instrumentation

• Prepare detailed technical reports, draw conclusions based on strong data analysis, contribute to patent applications, and provide internal and external presentations to summarize scientific findings

• Share development ideas, contribute to our global research portfolio, and assist in effective research planning

• Provide support to external collaborators where applicable

• Stay up to date in scientific literature for specific areas of specialization

• Work effectively with cross-functional project teams, including scientists, biologists, chemists, and engineers

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline
• M.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience
• B.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience.
