Overview

The Senior Specialist, Employee Relations North America, will play a pivotal role in addressing complex workplace issues, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting employee satisfaction. This position involves acting as a mediator, conducting in-depth investigations, providing advanced advisory support, and fostering open communication between employees and management. The Senior Specialist will also take on additional responsibilities in mentoring junior specialists and leading strategic initiatives.

 

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week onsite at our Milford, MA headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator to resolve complex disputes between employees or between employees and management, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Complaint Investigation: Conduct thorough and in-depth investigations into employee complaints, such as harassment or discrimination, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Advanced Advisory Role: Provide advanced guidance to management on handling Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), disciplinary actions, terminations, and other employee-related matters while ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between employees and management to address concerns and foster open communication.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support junior Employee Relations specialists, providing guidance and sharing best practices.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Lead and participate in strategic initiatives aimed at improving employee relations and engagement across the organization.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze employee engagement and turnover data to identify trends and share insights with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) for proactive improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in employee relations, including conflict resolution and complaint investigation.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide advanced advice and guidance to management on employee-related matters.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting junior team members.
  • Ability to lead and participate in strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with HR Business Partners and other stakeholders.
