At Waters, our Implementation Project Managers [IPMs] play a key role in ensuring successful deployments of our cutting edge systems and their solutions at our customers sites.

 

The role is collaborative of nature, working closely and effectively with multiple stakeholders both internal and external to ensure seamless implementations that deliver a high level of customer satisfaction.

An IPMs typical internal network consists of sales specialists & managers, manufacturing, the order processing team, logistics, finance, application specialists, field service engineers/managers and product quality, externally they partner with logistic partners, 3rd party suppliers and of course our customers.

 

Working hybrid (home office and field) the role requires agile project management skills and an ability to balance multiple projects in parallel with a strong understanding of our technologies and our customers’ needs.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the implementation process as per Waters SOP’s, ensuring systems are deployed effectively, efficiently, in a timely manner with a high-degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist sales colleagues in pre-sales activities to help set customer expectations and ease concerns for potential new orders.
  • Carry out a technical review of all system sales orders within a defined territory to ensure all items are ordered to ensure a successful and seamless implementation.
  • Visit, liaise and build partnerships with our customers working closely together to ensure their sites are fully prepared to accommodate system installations.
  • Co-ordinate internally with service managers to ensure the required resources are planned to complete implementations successfully and efficiently.
  • Work with our order processing teams and logistics teams to co-ordinate deliveries from various distribution centers to ensure all order components arrive safely and timely.
  • Build effective external partnership with logistic providers, 3rd party suppliers and other building services companies and act as the conduit to our customers giving a sense of ownership, confidence and accountability.
  • Ensure full compliance to all steps of the defined Implementation Process end-to-end, ensuring full documentation and reporting of each step.
  • When at customers site, be the ears and eyes of Waters and engage in meaningful conversations to understand their challenges and help provide solutions and potential business opportunities to Waters.
  • Review customer feedback surveys to evaluate completed Implementation Projects, closing the loop with our customers and using the feedback as a vehicle to taking learnings from and drive future improvements.
  • Act as a role-model for compliance ensuring all personnel and resources involved in the projects compliantly update the systems of records.
  • Ensure quality issues are logged correctly and collaborate with Waters Quality departments to report matters promptly.
  • Participate in regular internal escalation meeting especially around Implementation issues.
  • Take ownership and plan any returns and reverse logistics pertaining to implementation projects.
  • Comply to both Waters and our customers Environmental, Health & Safety policies and ensure other Waters staff visiting customer premises do so also.
  • Have a solid technical understanding of Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical and clinical environment.

  • Help drive service operations to meet/exceed Waters global and local service performance metrics and targets.

 

Education:

  • You hold a Science based or Project Management degree in a relevant subject matter.

Experience:

  • Successful experience in LC or MS.
  • Desired Project Management experience or demonstrated ability.
  • An understanding of GMP/GLP requirements.

Competencies:

  • Demonstrates a “can do” attitude and presents themselves as an “Ambassador” of Waters in the most professional way.
  • At least three years relevant practical experience in field service related or other technically related area.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Strong customer skills.
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills, ability to work across a matrix organization with multiple internal and external stakeholders. An ability to work and engage at all levels within the subsidiary.
  • Appreciation of legislation relevant to the customer environment.
  • Calm under pressure.

  • Excellent time management skills- ability to balance multiple projects at any one given time.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Good business acumen.
  • Fluent in LOCAL and English (Written and Spoken)

Travel:

  • A clean driving license and a valid passport will be required;
  • This territory-based position with travelling within your designated territory, and occasional travels to other countries for activities such as business support, meetings, and training.
