Overview

In support of the business growth, innovation, margin expansion and customer experience goals, the Continuous Improvement Leader ensures timely and effective execution of strategic and innovation initiatives.  Reporting to the Service Operational Excellence Leader, this role will lead and implement process improvement and operational excellence projects with defined margin expansion targets in all aspects of three critical business segments (Service, Consumables and Lab Automation, and Connected Sciences).

Responsibilities

  • Works with Business Leaders to identify potential process improvement opportunities.
  • Plans, monitors, and leads operational excellence projects from initiation through completion.
  • Lead project teams across multiple sites, running multiple projects as needed.
  • Understands Process Improvement Frameworks and applies them to improve process performance.
  • Understands Change Management methods and techniques to drive adoption of solutions.
  • Utilizes project management best practices to ensure adequate planning, monitoring, controls, and risk management activities are conducted.
  • Works with Business Leaders to ensure appropriate project metrics targets are set, cascaded, reported, and achieved to support business growth and efficiency/margin expansion goals.
  • Participates in the recruitment of new members to the Operational Excellence Team.

Qualifications

 

  • BS degree in business, life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience managing projects
  • Understands process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Evidence of project management training and/or PMP certification required
  • Continual process improvement mentality
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Ability to influence team members in a matrix environment plus senior-level executives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
