Overview

The Product Commercialization Specialist will work alongside a team of product commercialization specialists, and the primary purpose is to oversee and execute the commercialization process in all phases of a product’s commercialization cycle as directed and requested by the product management team. The goal is to ensure products are available for manufacturing and sellable to customers, within the expected timeline driven by product management.

Responsibilities

The candidate will specifically contribute to creating Bills of Material, creating and managing Engineering Change Requests as well as Sales Action Requests ensuring timely workflow responses.

  • Applies working product knowledge to interpret, determine and/or create material requirements such as material numbers, structure, quote text, document information records including artwork, source control drawings, and variant structure and flow.
  • Enables the creation of bills of material (BOM), for manufacturability and saleability.
  • Creates/manages ECRs (Engineering Change Request): Add proper text, attach objects, obtain technical files etc., and ensure timely workflow responses.
  • Creates/manages requests to commercialize material for sale (Sales Action Request): Enter/load product master data, ensure quality of information, ensure timely workflow responses.
  • Maintain work process flows by coordinating information and requirements with related operational departments proactively, participating with and providing recommendations to the business teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 2-5 years of experience in a professional working environment. Some exposure to manufacturing is a plus.
  • Proven working knowledge of SAP at a transaction level with focus on Product Life Management (PLM), Materials Management (MM), Engineering Change Management (ECM).
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing and marketing structures or awareness of how a product is developed from infancy to a sales end item. Experience with commercializing new products is a plus. 
  • Value both working independently as well as working collaboratively as a team member
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and effectively engage with multi-cultural product commercialization stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to learn and use automation scripts in mass material creation in SAP.
  • Superior computer usage skills that can apply to new project management tools (such as SmartSheet, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools – Teams, Excel, Word.
