Overview

Wyatt are looking to bring on board a Senior Manager, Product Management to join the team in Santa Barbara!

 

The Senior Manager, Product Management will work closely with Wyatt senior management to define hardware, software and service product strategies that will result in sustainable and profitable growth for product lines

Responsibilities

Primary Responsiblities

  • Develop product roadmaps guided by input from customers and field sales representatives that are supported by detailed market analyses
  • Assume responsibility for the overall health of Wyatt product lines by defining key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Support customers, field sales and field service to ensure product value propositions are realized
  • Lead product management participation in the PLC process through all phases ranging from ideation to retirement
  • Inspire and influence colleagues to work across a matrix organization (Hardware R&D, Software R&D, Operations, Manufacturing, Service, Marketing, Sales)
  • Support the development of best-in-class sales tools and marketing campaigns for new product launches
  • Perform high-value customer visits to generate a clear understanding of their challenges and needs
  • Develop market requirement specifications that include "voice of the customer" and competing solution considerations
  • Align new market opportunities in existing and adjacent market segments with the product roadmap priorities
  • Evaluate current and emerging competitors to provide the Sales organization with tools to combat competition
  • Monitor business performance of individual product lines on a monthly basis and work closely with senior management to ensure consistent profitable growth across the portfolio
  • Support Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) strategy by scanning market opportunities and providing market analysis for identified targets
  • Manage and lead a team of product managers.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree required. Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred. MBA is a plus.
  • Ph.D or pertinent experience with analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering is highly desirable.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Proven product and project management leadership including a clear understanding of the various roles of functional support groups and their interrelation
  • Strong track record of delivering business results and demonstrated ability to mobilize and
  • influence the organization
  • Must have successfully completed full product launches and be willing to perform hands-on
  • activities
  • A strong financial background with product justification experience and margin analysis. Proven
  • abilities in reporting ROI and effectiveness of marketing programs.
  • Open and effective communication style, excellent public presentation skills, strong people skills, cross-organizational teamwork, and the ability to interact with and influence the direction of key opinion leaders.
  • Excellent writing skills with prior experience in producing marketing communications.
  • HPLC experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Wyatt light scattering instruments and applications highly preferred
  • Global brand management and international experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel worldwide. Up to 50% travel is anticipated.
  • Seven (7) years experience in product management; laboratory instrument sales; and supervisory experience

 

The general base pay for this position ranges from $138,000-$184,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
