Overview

Wyatt Technologiy is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of an Sales Manager.

 

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Sr Sales Manager defines and executes the Sales Strategy for the West half of the US. The position requires strategic thinking, the ability to work closely with the colleagues at Waters and lead Regional Manager and Field Application Scientist teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales objectives while operating within budgets and costs.
  • Manage the Regional/Account Manager and Field Application Scientist (FAS) team in assigned territory.
  • Work with the National Sales Manager to develop an annual sales plan that supports the sales target as well as the business objectives including growth of new product lines and attacking adjacent target markets.
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plans for defined regions to include the methodology needed to achieve sales growth including: lead generation and nurturing, customer support, cold calling, technical seminars, demos, application feasibility tests, training, and penetration activities within territory
  • Proactively lead Regional/Account Managers and Key Account Team
  • Build trust with customers and colleagues and maintain the highest level of integrity while building long-term relationships with customer’s Senior Management and establishing yourself as a trusted, inspiring leader
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the entire sales team via high quality account visits and sales calls, one on one meetings, training, personal development programs, performance reviews, objectives settings and grievance resolution.
  • Work with National Sales Manager to organize and execute sales meetings  
  • Utilize a sales management team to identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats for the organization, develop appropriate reaction plans and assure timely and high-quality execution of those plans.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence to understand business health, early identification of problem areas, key individual and team metrics, and territory optimization,
  • Develop training to address gaps in required skill sets of field sales teams. 
  • Provide market intelligence, implement value selling, and leverage applications to identify companies and departments that could benefit from Wyatt technology
  • Collaborate with the Inside Sales Department and Marketing Department
  • Developing technical and application proficiency with all of Wyatt products, value positioning, competitive positioning, and core applications
  • Monitor competitive activity and industry trends, fosters competitive solutions to meet sales goals.
  • Timely submit forecasts, weekly reports, monthly highlights, marketing intelligence, and other related reports for defined territory to supervisor using CRM tools.
  • Continue to improve discipline and the quality CRM data (forecast, opportunities, accounts, contacts, leads and actions)
  • Develop top sales and FAS talent; maintain a talent pipeline for all critical positions.
  • Travel up to 50% for sales meetings, sales training and tradeshows.

Qualifications

  • BS or higher in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry.
  • 5 years of in field sales experiences.
  • 3-5 years of management experience. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC and/or Light Scattering instruments required;
  • Knowledge of biomolecular and bio-nanoparticle characterization techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an excellent familiarity with basic lab techniques, instrumentation, and software.  
  • Excellent organization, motivation, attention to detail, and communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to learn and utilize CRM quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions and observations from market trends and unit analysis.
  • Substantiated capability to negotiate and close business.


 

The general base pay for this position ranges from $121,000 to $161,500 per year. Pay is based on several factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
